Meet Our Team
Stephanie Mancilla Palomo
Stephanie is in her last year of majoring in the Environmental Studies, with a concentration in Conservation Science and Policy. Steph is the first in her family to attend higher education, coming from a household of hard working immigrants. She first got involved with ESLP when she came in as a transfer, looking for a place where her work and dedication can be transcribed. Stephanie loves all things nature, such as hiking and backpacking, birds, yummy food, and most importantly pets, dogs, cat and fish.
Avery Larsen
Avery Larsen is a sophomore Marine Biology major with a deep love for the ocean and the diverse organisms that thrive in marine environments, especially marine flora. Passionate about the outdoors, they enjoy hiking and camping as a way to connect with nature. Avery joined the ESLP during their freshman year, a decision that became one of their most rewarding experiences. They value the strong community ESLP fosters while working toward proactive and lasting environmental change.
Brianna Dupre
Brianna is a first year Environmental Studies major and cares about the preservation of both ecosystems and the species within them. Also, addressing climate change and its effects is very important to her. She wants to feel involved at UCSC and didn't have many opportunities to take part in environmental activism in years past, so ESLP was the perfect place to start! In her free time, Brianna loves to read, bake, go for walks, and do escape rooms with friends.
Prachiti Sabnis
Prachiti Sabnis, an Environmental Science student at UC Santa Cruz, grew up visiting India, where poor air and water quality sparked her interest in environmental issues. She focuses on water quality and oceanography, particularly around California, and plans to pursue a PhD to further her research. Her passion for ESLP drives her to create meaningful change on campus and beyond.
Jose Lombera
Jose is a second-year at UC Santa Cruz. He is double majoring in Environmental Sciences and legal studies. He inspires to lead today's corporate world on a more environmentally conscious path. He joined ESLP to help spread environmental awareness. A favorite hobby of his is to spend time outdoors.
Kev Young
Kev is a 3rd year transfer student majoring in Community Studies and minoring in jazz improvisation. Their passion for positive social change and healing the world and all its inhabitants brought them to Community Studies and to ESLP. In their spare time, you can find Kev recording music and podcasts about Star Trek and other pop culture.
Avery Bingham
Avery is a second-year Environmental Studies major with a deep passion for sustainability and environmental protection. From a young age, they were taught the importance of respecting the environment, which inspired them to pursue solutions to combat climate change. Through ESLP, Avery also sought to connect with like-minded individuals who share a commitment to protecting the planet. In their free time, they enjoy hiking, skiing, cooking, spending time with loved ones, playing soccer.
Zoe McCall
Zoe is an Environmental Science major driven by her fascination of the interconnectedness of ecosystems. She joined ESLP to help contribute to positive environmental change on campus. Outside of school, she enjoys reading and hiking.
